Disley Parish Council were delighted to be informed that their application to WREN for funding to regenerate the Arnold Rhodes Play Area has been successful. This means that with match funding from the Parish Council the work should start in early Spring.
Cllr. Diane Guy, secretary of Disley Friends of Cancer Research UK was presented with a donation of £279.85 by Jane Hulme of the Ram’s Head, Disley.
Jane raised the money by serving delicious hot mulled wine in the Ram’s Head on the evening of the Christmas Tree Lights switch on in Disley and people were invited to make a donation.

2009 proved to be the best season ever for the village’s cricket club with the firsts ending the season as Cheshire Alliance Division 1 Champions and Senior Cup winners, beating Haslington from the South of the county in a thrilling and tense final.
