Looking to the Future – What Will Disley Be Like in 2030?

Cheshire East Council has invited Parish Councils to draw up a Village Strategy for inclusion in their Local Plan and Core Strategy which is due to be adopted in 2013 and will inform future development up to 2030. This will replace the existing Local Plan produced by Macclesfield Borough Council.
A small working party made up of Disley Parish Councillors and representatives from some village organisations and local groups have been working on future policy options for inclusion in Cheshire East’s Local Plan for the next 20 years.
This working party identified many of the same issues and challenges for the village as those raised through the Parish Plan consultation.
The resulting proposals for a Village Strategy highlight some future challenges for the village which will need further and wider consultation to both maintain and enhance the character of Disley by the year 2030.
Residents are therefore invited to attend a Presentation Meeting on Saturday 24th March from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Disley Community Centre to view and discuss the options with all working party members.
