The Lyme Missal
Lyme Hall’s Victorian Library is bringing a rare Caxton book to life and visitors are able to sit and turn the pages of history whilst marvelling at the beauty of the Missal. This rare and unique early prayer book was the first to be published in colour in Paris in 1487 and gives a window through which can be glimpsed social life over the centuries through the annotations made by its owners, the Legh family.
Until the end of October, Lyme Hall is open Friday till Tuesday 11 a.m. till 5 p.m.
